What We Do

Our club recently ran the Consent Workshops for the 2020-21 school year, we hold a Survivor Support and Allies group, and we're also working on so much more!

Consent Workshops 2021

P4C organized a consent workshop for the whole high school in February 2021. We trained 35 student presenters to lead a interactive workshop that focused on:

  • Consent (what is it?)

  • Communication (internal, external, assertive)

  • The 4 F’s (fight, flight, freeze, fawn)

  • Drugs & Alcohol

  • Online consent & Nudes

  • When someone tells you...

  • If you report

  • Long Lasting Effects of sexual assault on survivors & resources

  • How do we change the culture?

We hope to continue to host this workshop for years to come.

Survivor Support and Allies Group

Meets on Monday's 2:15-3:15.

P4C has created a support system for survivors of sexual violence and allies. It is a safe space to share experiences and heal. Due to it being completely student run, there are no mandated reporters present (besides for the first 5 min), so it is completely confidential, but there are always mandated resources available!

Questions? Email piedmont4consent@gmail.com or use the "Contact" page to do so anonymously to get in touch with the people in charge of this group.

Current Committees

Here is a list of the current committees, all committees are student run:

  • High School Consent Workshop Series - P4C is currently working on a 4 workshop series for the high school, with the consent workshops 2021 being the freshman year one â€‹

  • Elementary School Education - this group is working on implementing consent education at an early age, so this means teaching kids about the 4 F's, assertive communication, and consent at an early age without any connections to sexual or romantic activity.

  • Survivor Support and Allies Group - see above for more information

  • Website and Resources - works on creating and maintaining a resourceful and educational website (meaning this website is currently getting added to every week! So please forgive us for any pages still being marked 'work in progress'!)

  • Community Building and Outreach:

    • Schools Network (Community Outreach) subgroup - aims to create a network with other schools to share resources and work together to have a larger impact. This committee is also a 2020-2021 Barlin Action Project.

    • Social Media (Community Building) subgroup - works to create social media campaigns and extend P4C's reach.

      • @piedmontforconsent

  • Policy and Action - works to both understand all of the legality side to consent (i.e. not only the age of __ laws but also the Education code, Title IX, etc.) and to apply this knowledge through action

To learn more, contact the P4C email to get in touch with the leaders of these committees.
