What if both/all people involved in the assault were drunk?

When someone is drunk and hits another drunk person, they are still charged with assault. So how does this apply to sex and intimacy? Arguably, drunk sex is like a bar fight in which both people have assaulted each other. However, in a fight, one person usually instigates: this also applies to sex. Anyone with emotions associated with assault is valid, even if you may have been drunk and unintentionally assaulted someone. What if both people are under age?

If all people are underage (meaning neither can consent), all people risk being charged with statutory rape. However, someone would have to bring the situation to court, making cases in which both underage parties are not incapacitated and are enthusiastic about participating very rare. Also, many states have the "Romeo and Juliet Clause," which states that minors will not be convicted or will face minor repercussions if they engage in underage (but otherwise consensual) sex.

How do you recognize/leave an unhealthy relationship?

Every relationship is different and every person has a different perspective on a given relationship, making this a difficult question to answer without specifics. Getting help from someone you trust and can open up to is likely the best pathway. They know you best and want the best for you: they will likely identify an unhealthy situation and have your wellbeing in mind. If you are in an unhealthy relationship, your partner might try to manipulate you into believing that your loved ones "don't understand your relationship" or "are jealous" or "want you to themselves." But if there is anything that will help you identify and leave an unhealthy relationship, it is seeing through this: trust your friends and family because they want the best for you. Please click on the link below for more information. How do I have a healthy relationship? How do I be a good partner?

Learning to foster a healthy relationship and be a good partner is of the utmost importance, but it isn't easy. So many people enter life, love, and relationships thinking they will be simple: they think that relationships just come down to loving each other. They could not be further from correct. No matter how well you and your partner get along, relationships are a trained skill; it will take time and experience to learn to have an ideal relationship. Click the button below to learn more.
